Welcome to Castle Hill Books Castle Hill Books are now selling online and by appointment only from The Old Vicarage, Dolau in Powys.
The Old Vicarage is a late Victorian building which has a large coach house attached, where the vicar kept his horse and carriage and the groom slept, on the ground floor, with a large Sunday School room above. This is now the main bookstore with a rare book room available by appointment in the house..
A previous incumbent in the Parish, which is Llanfihangel Rhydithon, and is served by St Michael's Church across the fields, was the Rev Daniel Parry Jones who wrote many books on Wales, including A Welsh Country Parson, Welsh Country Upbringing etc. A more recent vicar of the Parish was the Very Rev Dean Geraint Hughes, former dean of Brecon Cathedral who has written many local history books and leads the very active local history group in a nearby village.
